With the advancement of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, all schools were temporarily closed to comply with the social isolation measures adopted to slow the spread of the disease. This may mean interrupting the teaching-learning process, however, some school institutions are adapting and adhering to distance learning.
For this initiative to be successful, it is necessary to do good planning and use appropriate teaching tools that enable the transmission and construction of knowledge. In addition, all members of the school community need to collaborate and the school must support them in this time of change and uncertainty.
With that in mind, we interviewed Carolina Pavanelli, pedagogical director of the education system at Eleva Educação to learn more about the challenges of education in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Understand how Eleva is dealing with the situation and helping teachers, coordinators and students.

Find out how Eleva has adapted to the Covid-19 crisis
According to Carolina Pavanelli, the Eleva Teaching Platform has been striving since the first week of social isolation to adapt and offer all the necessary support to coordinators, educators and students.
In this sense, explains the pedagogical director, “the first week of social isolation on the Platform, still in the middle of March, was dedicated to understanding what was happening and what the immediate needs of our partner schools would be”.
Thus, it was possible to prepare and promote actions quickly to support educators and students in this delicate moment, marked by uncertainties. “As of the second week, we have started to offer complete lesson plans, for all grades and disciplines, in addition to transporting to the online model the assistance in our Relationship Center and even our pedagogical assistance”, informs Carolina.
In addition, Eleva has been promoting lives and webinars on distance learning in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and establishing partnerships to offer virtual simulations aimed at students preparing for ENEM.

Carolina Pavanelli also talks about what challenges schools have faced during the Covid-19 pandemic and how Eleva has collaborated with them. Find out below.
Challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic in the school context
Carolina Pavanelli points out that all members of the school community are facing challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers need to adapt their curricula and classes for non-classroom teaching, coordinators and principals must review the calendar, students deal with anxiety, nervousness, lack of experience with more independent studies and parents, in addition to working at home, study with the children.
Considering this, Carolina believes that unity and mutual assistance are even more important at this time. “We are, more than ever, needing to understand that we are a school community, and not separate cells. Everyone working together to make it work ”.
Contributions of Eleva Educação to overcome them
To fulfill its role, Eleva collaborates with the efforts of schools that are seeking to adapt and guarantee the continuity of the teaching-learning process despite social isolation. As we have already shown, it offers complete lesson plans, which relieves the burden on teachers, and promotes lives and webinars on various subjects related to distance education.
One of Eleva’s solutions is the adaptive platform, which facilitates teaching, learning and assessing student performance. According to Carolina, “in addition to building exercise lists for students based on their learning levels, [a plataforma adaptativa] it still allows schools to extract individualized reports, both of attendance and performance. Now, more than ever, this tool can and should be used to monitor student development. ”
Discover Eleva’s partnership with Estácio
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic can make learning inequalities in Brazil even higher. Most schools do not have the necessary infrastructure for distance learning, especially those that are part of the public network. In some cases, even if this is not a problem, teachers are not familiar with non-classroom teaching.
To reduce the impacts of the pandemic in this regard, Eleva established a partnership with Estácio with the aim of helping students to prepare for ENEM. Thus, the Resolve Sim platform was created. According to Carolina Pavanelli, this tool is completely free and can be accessed by students from Brazilian public schools who are preparing for the exam. There are more than 200 videos recorded by Eleva Educação teachers, 85 podcasts and 1800 questions.
This unprecedented initiative reinforces Eleva’s commitment to modern and quality education for Brazilian education, which meets the needs of students in the current context, offering excellent preparation for ENEM and transforming their lives through education.
Understand Eleva’s commitment to quality Brazilian education
According to Carolina Pavanelli, Eleva always seeks to understand the needs of education and news in Brazil and in the world. So it was able to cope well with the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on education and to react quickly.
“EaD itself had been on our agenda for some time now, what the coronavirus did was to anticipate these actions for us, brought the subject to the top of priorities. I think that our thirst for always seeking and learning prepared us better for a moment like this ”, explains the educational director at Eleva.
Considering all these points, you could see that Eleva has been offering extremely valuable resources during the period of social isolation and helping schools to adapt to non-classroom teaching. The objective is to reduce the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the quality of education and on the daily lives of all members of the school community, helping them to go through this difficult time in a more peaceful way.
